I forgot about the sandwich things... and I have already bought the plastic sandwich keepers. Oh well... I'm thinking of making their lunch bags, so that makes up for it =) I'm working towards zero waste for the lunches too. My ideas are to buy the large containers of yogurt (you could even get plain and then mix in some of your homemade jelly...) and put it in a little snack sized bowl. And the cheese... well, maybe another snack sized bowl, buy a block of cheese and cut it up, put it in the bowl with some pretzels or carrots.

Now I'm hungry.

I've heard before that the guidelines on some products for them to be considered "organic" are pretty open to interpretation. I think organic soda must fall into that category. But like you described, organic doesn't always equate healthy.

I've never been into garage sales either. I'm sure it's a great way to find used clothes for kids or possibly some used furniture, but the rest of the crap out there is usually just crap. I don't see myself having one - I will just go donate the stuff to Goodwill.

I haven't done a very good job lately of keeping track of my books read, but I've been pretty steadily reading. Of course, I got trapped by the Stephanie Plum novels and just finished #9 (there are 16+ so far) so it will be a while before I get around to reading anything thought-provoking. But they're extremely entertaining and I just don't need any deep thinking right now =)

At first I was like "my wedding was awesome, I would do it again." Then I remembered my MIL flipping out, my BFF upset that we drove the wrong car to the reception (not the one SHE decorated), my sister being hateful (which caused me to spend the first 10 minutes of my reception in the bathroom crying), the money we spent on food and a cake that we barely got a bite of.. Yeah, you can high five away. You were definitely smarter LOL

I want to try canning, but it might have to wait for next summer. Bill's garden kinda fizzled this year.

As for other BTB things that I do, like sewing and crocheting, everyone either acts like it's something only old ladies do or they are just blown away that I can do it. Once upon a time almost every woman could do stuff like that. It's not that hard, you just have to take the time to do it. And when I see really cute stuff, I don't have to say "Gee, I wish I had the money for that." I say "Gee, I bet I can make that" =) It's much more satisfying to make it myself.

I've been wading through Bag of Bones by Stephen King the past few weeks. It's a great book, but I haven't had much time to read. There's another way to get what you want on home improvement projects. Just get the stuff and do them while your husband is at work. If he works long hours like mine, a paint job can be done before he gets home. That's one nice thing about the Army. When he's gone for a weekend, week, whatever, I usually tackle one major household project while the kids sleep.

I'm crawling through Pride and Prejudice and Zombies right now. I don't know what I was thinking... I'm so not in the mood for Pride and Prejudice and the addition of Zombies isn't helping any. I'll give myself until I receive my next book in the mail and it might get put on the shelf for a while.
